S3M Model


The S3M is a process maturity model that can be used for improving small maintenance activities.

The S3M is dedicated to all maintenance programmers who are overwhelmed with urgent maintenance requests and who want to move forward and improve the valuable service they provide to their customers.

The research was conducted over a 10 years period and was released in a book : Software Maintenance Management written by Alain April, professor of Software Engineering at the University of Québec in Montréal, in its Software Engineering faculty and Alain Abran, professor and the Director of the Software Engineering Laboratory at École de Technologie Supérieure, Université du Québec (Canada).

Training

NetSen has a close partnership with ÉTS (Ecole de Technologie Supérieure) and Alain April, one of the inventor of the S3M model.

We offer an introduction and certification courses of Software Maintenance Maturity Assessments S3M on demand.

Thanks to their knowledge and our expertise, we combine our skills to provide you the best training program. Certification

In addition to exceptional traning, this programme will allow you to gain professional qualifications.

There are two S3M certification types and two certification levels:

  • Type 1 – S3M Internal Assessor: Certification for internal assessor (self-assessment); for conducting self-assessments in your organization.
  • Type 2 – S3M External Assessor: By definition experts in process improvement can become advanced assessors. Certification for third-party assessors (accredited organizations): This certification is necessary for consultants that want to provide S3M assessments to their clients.
